Elon Musk Violates Wisconsin Election Law by Trying to Buy Votes

This morning Elon Musk tweeted that he would pay two random Wisconsin voters $1 million to vote in the upcoming State Supreme Court election. The tweet read, “On Sunday night, I will give a talk in Wisconsin. Entrance is limited to those who have voted in the Supreme Court election. I will also personally hand over two checks for a million dollars each in appreciation for you taking the time to vote. This is super important.”

Ben Wikler, the Democratic Chair of Wisconsin, said that Elon’s actions broke the law. Wisconsin state law makes promising anything of value in return for voting or to refrain from voting a felony. Elon deleted the tweet later in the afternoon, but despite deleting the tweet it still remains a crime.

This is not the first time Elon Musk has offered to pay people to vote, he used the same tactic in the run-up to the 2024 Presidential election. Elon and Trump are attempting to destroy democracy in America. Buy votes is illegal and unconstitutional and flies in the face of every single founding principle of our nation. Elon Musk must be prosecuted, but Republicans are too cowardly to do it. It is now our responsibility to use our collective voice and demand that our representatives take action to hold him accountable. Whether you live in Wisconsin or anywhere else in the United States we all need to call, wright, and email our elected officials and demand justice or before we know it we will all be living in a fascist oligarchy.
