Kari Lake aims to indoctrinate Arizona children.

With all the noise that Republican politicians have been making about the indoctrination of our nation’s children through the public education system in this country you would think that they would oppose any curriculum with that goal. However, you would be wrong, unfortunately unlike the false claims that America’s children are being indoctrinated through the teaching of university level subjects like Critical Race Theory when they are in the third grade, Kari Lake is very serious about proselytizing the children of Arizona with a right-wing Christian based curriculum inspired by Donald Trump.

The curriculum in question was developed by Hillsdale College, a private Christian college in Michigan. The creation of the Hillsdale curriculum was led by Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn, who was also the chairman of Trump’s 1776 Commision. The 1776 Commision was created by Trump to develop a “patriotic education”. According to Trump the commission was created because “patriotic moms and dads are going to demand that their children are no longer fed hateful lies about this country.” Translated from Trump speak this simply means that they no longer want the truth about this country to be taught in our schools and would prefer that our children be left ignorant about American history.

When asked why she chose to support this curriculum Lake’s spokesperson explained that she selected it “as an alternative to the biased, CRT-based indoctrination permeating textbooks and lesson plans.” This is of course complete fiction as there is not one textbook or lesson plan in any K-12 classroom in the state of Arizona that is based on CRT. Like everything she says Lake is simply projecting with this statement. Her true aim is to indoctrinate Arizona’s children through an education system based on her and the Republican party’s corruption of Christian values and a false narrative of American history.

We as citizens of Arizona have a responsibility to ensure that all of the children in our state have access to a public educational system based on truth and free bias toward any single religion. Kari Lake has made it clear that if she is to become governor, she will do everything she can to make sure that this does not happen.
