Paul Gosar is a Disgrace to Arizona
Like his colleagues Debbie Lesko and Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar is a liar and authoritarian, who hates democracy and everything that it stands for. Gosar is a stalwart election denier and spreader of the “Big Lie”, he tried to disenfranchise every single Arizona voter by objecting to the certification of Arizona’s electoral votes, and he persistently spreads false claims of election fraud based on absolutely no evidence.
However, beyond his disdain for the electoral process and the will of the people Gosar is a seditionist, white-supremacist, and advocate for political violence. According to the disgraced extreme right-wing lunatic, Ali Alexander, (who has been banned from every social media platform in existence) Gosar, Andy Biggs, & Mo Brooks helped him plan the violence that occurred on January 6th with the goal of putting “maximum pressure” on congress to overturn the election. It has also been reported that Gosar was working towards obtaining and even promised pardons to the seditionists who took part in the January 6th coup attempt.
Gosar also has a long history of antisemitism and expressing his support for white nationalists. His claim that holocaust survivor George Soros turned his family over to the Nazis, his frequent use of antisemitic dog whistles, and his record for voting against multiple resolutions to condemn antisemitism, make it clear that Gosar is perhaps the most openly antisemitic member of congress. Gosar has also endorsed several white nationalists who were running for congress such as, Lauren Witzke and Laura Loomer, additionally Gosar often expresses and tweets about his support for white nationalist figures such as Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and Darren Beattie, who runs the extreme right-wing media outlet Revolver.
His involvement in Trump’s attempted coup and his open racism are extremely disturbing, but perhaps even more frightening is Gosar’s recent advocation for violence against his political opposition. Last year Gosar tweeted out a video from both his personal and professional accounts a video that depicted his sick fantasy to kill representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and physically attack President Joe Biden. When Twitter put a warning label on his tweet, he bragged about it. If any of us would have tweeted a similar video about any of our coworkers, we would likely become unemployed very quickly, yet Gosar remains in congress. Gosar’s own family has publicly advocated for his removal from congress, his siblings have labeled him mentally unstable, and his actions illustrate how they came to that conclusion. Gosar’s lies, disdain for democracy, seditionist acts, open racism, and calls for violence make him possibly the biggest disgrace to ever represent the people of Arizona, we deserve better, and it is time to give Arizonans and all Americans better by voting Paul Gosar out of office in 2022!
